My name is Hanan Khadeeja Siddik, and I am currently pursuing my 1st year (2nd semester) in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) at Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, through KCET, where I secured a rank of 27215.

My life took a tragic turn when I lost my father on 20th April 2021, during my 10th standard. He was the sole breadwinner of our family. After his passing, we faced severe financial hardships. My mother, despite being a graduate in English Literature (B.A.), struggled to find a job. Eventually, with the help of relatives, she got a teaching job at Crescent International School in Shirva, with a very modest salary of just ₹10,500 per month, teaching only lower classes due to the absence of a B.Ed qualification. We also live in school accommodation to save on rent.

Her income is barely enough to cover our basic daily needs. Paying my engineering college fees has become impossible under these circumstances. I also have a younger sister, Sarah Maryam Siddik, who is currently in 2nd PUC (Class 12th) and wants to pursue MBA in the future. Her education too depends on the mercy of kind-hearted people.

Despite our struggles, I have never lost hope. I am determined to complete my engineering education and become a capable software engineer so that I can support my mother and sister and lift my family out of this cycle of financial hardship.

Today, I am humbly reaching out to my Muslim brothers and sisters, especially in this time when helping a student in need is considered a great form of Sadaqah Jariyah. Your support—whether through Zakat, Sadaqah, or Lillah—can help me continue my education and change the fate of my family.
