Assalamu Alaikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On the evening of 15th April 2026, a heartbreaking tragedy struck a small slum community in Vikas Nagar, Lucknow. What started as a sudden fire quickly turned into a massive disaster. Strong winds made the flames spread faster, and repeated LPG cylinder explosions made the situation even worse.

Within a few hours, everything was gone.

Homes that once gave shelter were turned into ashes. Clothes, savings, important documents—everything burned away. Families who had worked hard for years lost their entire life’s belongings in just one night.

In the middle of this chaos, two innocent young sisters lost their lives. Many others were injured, both physically and emotionally. The pain of this loss is beyond words.

Today, more than 280 families are homeless.
Over 1,000 people are now living under the open sky.

Most of these families are daily wage earners and migrant workers. They survive on small incomes, and now they have lost even the little they had. They are not just without homes—they are without security, dignity, and hope.

Parents are worried about their children.
Children are scared and uncertain about their future.
Elderly people are struggling without basic necessities.

But even in this darkness, there is hope.

Efforts are being made to help these families stand again—not only by giving immediate relief like food and clothes, but also by rebuilding their lives step by step. This includes:

• Rebuilding safe shelters
• Providing essential household items
• Helping them restart their livelihoods
• Supporting medical needs and children’s education

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of people are those who bring the most benefit to others.”

Today, these families need us.
