Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

We bring to you the story of our sister in faith, Rozia Akhter, a young woman from a struggling family who now stands at a turning point in her life. She is preparing to begin a new chapter through Nikah — a sacred Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — but is in desperate need of support from her brothers and sisters in the Ummah.

Rozia belongs to a poor family. She has two sisters and one brother. Her brother is pursuing Islamic education at a Darul Uloom that runs solely on donations. Her elder sister was married a few years ago but sadly returned home after being divorced, solely because her family couldn't meet the dowry demands of her in-laws — a painful reminder of how cultural expectations continue to overshadow Islamic teachings.

Their aged parents are physically weak and unable to work due to illness and old age. Rozia, despite her own challenges, has been the only source of income for the entire family, earning a meager ₹8000 a month. She works tirelessly just to keep the family afloat.

Now, as Rozia prepares for her Nikah — scheduled to take place on 28th May 2025, she wishes to enter this new phase of life with dignity. However, her financial condition makes even the simplest of arrangements difficult. There is no lavish wedding being planned — only the most basic necessities to perform this blessed Sunnah with honour and simplicity.
