IndiaZakat.com (IZC) Policies


1) IndiaZakat.com (IZC) Payment Policy
  • NO PROCESSING FEES. SERVING THE HUMANITY
  • IndiaZakat.com (IZC) doesn't charge any Processing fee, Platform fee or Contract fee. Funds in total are disbursed to the beneficiaries who has raised the cause.
  • The full amount which is collected for a cause is disbursed to the beneficiary after deducting the 2% payment gateway charges
  • Expenses such as cost of building, developing, maintaining, vendor charges and all other expenses, for the country’s first Zakat based crowdfunding platform is managed by Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP – www.ampindia.org)
  • The Payment Gateway used by the donors for donation, deducts between 1.5 to 2.5% on the total amount collected during the progression of campaign. Also, standard rate applies GST of 18% on Payment Gateway fee is included in the above amount. Whereas, fund transfers from saving account through NEFT, there are no charges as per RBI
  • Fund raised is disbursed to final beneficiaries (College/school/Vendors/direct) after deducting payment gateway charges and GST.
  • The platform accepts donations in INR only and from bank accounts within India from Indian nationals only.
  • IndiaZakat.com does not accept any fund from other nationalities accounts or cards. Only Indian nationals or NRI can donate through Indian bank account or card.
  • FCRA:
    • As per Section 11 of the FCRA, 2010 prescribes that no person, save as otherwise provided in the Act, shall accept foreign contribution unless such person obtains a certificate of registration or prior permission of the Central Government.
  • PMLA:
    • The Prevention of Money-Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 is an Act to prevent money-laundering and to provide for confiscation of property derived from, or involved in, money-laundering and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
  • IndiaZakat.com follows all judicial, financial and other laws laid down by the Govt. of India.

2) Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Donations made through IndiaZakat.com (IZC) are final and cannot be refunded, except in accordance with IndiaZakat.com Refund Policy.

However, IndiaZakat.com will issue refunds for the following “exceptional” scenarios.
  • If after approval of a cause, on a later stage, Cause is identified as a fraudulent (though Team IZC take all necessary measures of scrutiny) completely or violating the terms of service and if NO funds is transferred to the Recipient towards the same. IndiaZakat.com (IZC) will speak to individual Donors and either refund the amount to Donor or transfer the amount to any other existing cause as per the wish of Donors.
  • If the Cause raiser (Beneficiary) informs that the intended purpose of the cause fundraising is achieved or no longer required for any reason, and no funds have yet been transferred to the Recipient towards the same, then IndiaZakat.com will speak to individual Donors and either will refund the amount to Donor or transfer the amount to any other existing cause as per the wish of Donors.
  • Any other claims for refunds shall be honoured at the discretion of IndiaZakat.com (IZC) refund policy.
  • All refunds will be credited to the original mode of payment in 12-15 bank working days.

3) Robust KYC Process/Cause Verification:

Post donation cause raised on IndiaZakat.com, following steps for verification are followed:
  • Cause Manager (CM) is allocated to each of the cause raised who are experienced in verification process. The CM are internal team members of IZC and complete data security process is followed.
  • The Cause Manager connects with beneficiary/ cause raiser. Genuineness of the cause is highly expected. So, CM will cross check and ask for max details and documents/ references as per policy of IZC.
  • The Cause Manager will verify the zakat eligibility, genuineness of the requirement, on the basis of documents scrutiny. Once cause manager is satisfied with the genuineness of the cause it is sent to content team.
  • Content team will review the entire content and documents. After this process request is sent to approve or reject the cause.
  • Physical Verification if required are done by AMP chapters team members which are present across 140 cities in India.
  • Post approval of the cause it is made LIVE on IZC portal. IZC requests cause raiser to promote its own cause and also helps in giving training on “How to promote your cause” regularly
  • It is recommended that first donation should come by a known contact of cause raiser which helps in creating positive impact on potential donors.
  • The cause raiser and cause manager along with social media team, promotes the cause on various social media (FB, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter etc) in a systematic way to make it more effective/appealing.
  • IZC collects maximum donation through promotions done by IZC and also volunteer teams on social media platforms. If any cause raiser has problem or do not want their cause to be promoted on social media platforms can promote the cause among his/her family, relatives, friends and influential people/ groups in their respective city/state.
  • During the cause promotion, a short video from the creator/beneficiary is more effective to promote the cause on social sites. Attach the video/images along with cause link and explain in a standard message.
  • Once cause get successful, fund transfer would be initiated as per policy of IZC. For example:
  1. If the cause is related to Education, it will be to transferred (on behalf of cause raiser) into the school/ college account.
  2. If the cause is related to Medical, transfer the generated funds (on behalf of cause raiser) into the Hospital/ Clinic account.
  3. If the cause is related to Livelihood, transfer the generated funds (on behalf of cause raiser) into the vendors account from where the material is being purchased.
And so on...

In authentic circumstances if college, hospital or vendors don't provide their personal bank details, after physical verification by AMP chapters, IZC will transfer the amount directly to the beneficiary subject to approval by AMP and IZC.

4) Disbursement Process:

Once the cause goal is successfully achieved/completed or closed as per due date, the Cause raiser will have to execute the following steps for withdrawal request:
  • Add recipient bank account details via Dashboard -> Withdrawal -> Configure Withdrawal Details section.
  • Submit the request for withdrawal on dashboard of IndiaZakat.com Portal and inform team IZC via email to info@indiazakat.com.
  • Once the request for withdrawal is received in our system, IZC Team will verify recipient information received by email and will initiate the payment.
  • Partial payment is also possible based on the necessity of the beneficiary.

5) Post Payout Process:
  • After fund release, it is requested to cause raiser to submit testimonial/ as email/ thanks letter, short video, receipts etc. - Team IZC will promote these success stories on various platforms.
  • After disbursement of fund, the cause manager will also collect testimonials, institutions/college paid fee receipts, hospital bills, success story from beneficiary. This process includes:
  • Contacting the beneficiary of every completed cause.
  • Collecting the bills, receipts & testimonials
  • Uploading the received documents on the drive according to the Cause Id

IMPORTANT POINTS:

1) Unclaimed Fund:
  • INDIAZAKAT raises funds for different causes and in some cases, it might happen that the beneficiary does not claim the raised funds for some reasons. In such cases, INDIAZAKAT pay-out team will keep on contacting the beneficiary through Message, Call, Email for a certain amount of time.
  • IZC pay-out team will keep on contacting the beneficiary through Message, Call, Email, physical appearance for a certain amount of time.
  • If there is NO RESPONSE from the beneficiary or if the beneficiary does not claim the raised amount within stipulated 90 days, then the amount raised will be considered as “Unclaimed Fund” in next quarter of the year i.e., after 180 days (6 months).
  • For such funds that remain unclaimed by the beneficiary, the amount will be donated to preferably ‘other Causes of related category’. For example, donation received for Education cause which is not claimed, it will be re-donated to other Education causes only.
  • List of unclaimed causes & causes where their funds were transferred. This list will be updated in the 1st week of every month:

2) Surplus Amount:
  • By “Surplus Amount” here we mean that amount of the fund-raised that exceeds the goal amount.
  • For such extra amount (surplus amount) that is raised, IZC reserve rights to put in into a “Surplus amount raise” category and the amount will be utilized for the administrative costs and office expenses of IZC

3) Large Donations:
  • Large amount of donations that are being done by "Direct Bank Transfer" are subjected to save 2% cost that the payment gateway vendors deduct.
  • Hence, it is advisable for Donors to make large donations via the direct bank transfer option so that they can save the 2% cost on the donated amount.
  • The donors can make direct donation of the amount to below back account which will reflect in cause raiser fund within 1-2 days.
