Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) established AMP Zakat Fund in 2013 to empower the lives of underprivileged Muslims by promoting Education & Self-Employment. AMP realized then in its duty towards Community welfare, the potential of a properly organized Zakat Collection & Disbursement & how it can be effectively utilized to bring out the Community from the throes of misery. The principles of Collective Zakat were used for establishing the Fund so a Zakat Seeker could be transformed into a Zakat Giver. Thus, through AMP Zakat Fund, we have been working relentlessly towards supporting Orphans’ Education, Higher Education & Self-Employment for the needy for the past 9 years now.
AMP Orphans’ Basic Education Fund:
This fund was established to support the educational expenses of needy orphan children so that the orphan child is not deprived of even the basic education for want of a guardian. Through this endeavour, AMP Zakat Fund intends that the orphans in the community should not be left behind or isolated, that the community is right behind them to support them in Education & thus make them self-reliant.
AMP through its vast network of Chapters across the Country helps identify genuine Schools & Madrassas which admit Orphans for basic education. Through their Management, AMP Chapters collect the details of Orphan children & their fees required for the year. AMP Zakat Fund then accordingly funds the entire educational fees of the year for these identified children.
In the year 2021, AZF provided financial support for the Basic Education of 354 needy Orphan children through AMP’s committed city chapters. Since 2016, AMP Orphans’ Education Fund has supported 1,381 Orphan students with a total fund of Rs. 71.88 Lakhs so far Alhamdulillah & out of these approx. 60% were Girl students.
